these two gentlemen are old friends of mine. i met marius my freshman year in college, and daryl thru marius! i’ve never shot a gay couple before… i was actually quite concerned that i wouldn’t know what i was doing. but i soon realized it’s the same exact experience as shooting a straight couple. then i just felt plain stupid for doubting the process… my job as a photographer is to capture connections and of course moments that they will remember forever. and that’s what i did. i didn’t think about who was the man, or who was the woman, or any of those awkward questions you think would cross your mind…i just focused on their love and their connection. and BAM, i got me some sweet pictures with some gay (happy) love! daryl is quite the fashion-forward gay. everything he brought for the shoot, jeff and i asked ‘do they make this in GIANT?’ ha. i love, love, love these two.
PLUG TIME!!! daryl co-owns happily ever after confectionery, a nutritionally conscious boutique cup cake business made from locally bought organic ingredients. they also feature vegan and gluten-free cupcakes! pretty cool stuff. check out his website!
daryl and marius are celebrating 5 years. here is my gift to them.
daryl is the one in the stripped henley, and marius is in the brown hoodie. enjoy!
jeff took this one. love it.
as we were leaving jeff asked. ‘did you get your signature shot?!’ uhhhh DUH!
this was one of the first shots of the day. jeff’s suggestion of course… i wasn’t sure it was going to work, but its one of my favorites of the day.
as we were leaving a saw the light pouring through the trees which just made my spirit happy, i said ‘i lied! i’m not done! go over there and look pretty!’
and here it is. my favorite pic of the day!
